Senior Android Framework Engineer

We’re looking for an Android Engineer to join the Smartglasses Product team!

Responsibilities

• Design, improve, and support internal and external augmented reality smartglass products.


• Participate in design and code reviews.


• Interact with design, engineering, and product teams to shape and launch products.


• Continually improve your craft and support your peers with growth.


• Role requires being on-site to access HW equipment in the labs.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• B.S. degree in Computer Science or equivalent discipline.


• 3 to 5 years of experience developing for Android OS platforms.


• Experience in Java, C++, Kotlin.


• Experience building high-performance code.


• Familiar with software development practices & tools (CI/CD, Git, GitHub, Gerrit, Jenkins).


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


• Team player with a “can-do” approach.


• Attention to detail and the ability to identify and troubleshoot technical challenges.


• Ability to learn and apply new principles to execute daily responsibilities.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• 2+ years of experience with any of the following: Android internals, AOSP, Android SDK, Android NDK, Android JNI, Android IPC mechanisms.


• Experience with AR or VR platforms (e.g., ARKit, ARCore, ODG, Magic Leap, HoloLens, Meta Quest).


• Experience developing on Qualcomm Snapdragon platforms (845, 865, XR1, XR2).


• Experience designing SDKs or APIs for use by developers.


• Experience with OpenGL, WebGL & camera API.


• Experience with computer vision and ML frameworks.


• Experience working with cloud services.


• Experience launching apps on Google Play Store.
